Private one-on-one sessions

One-on-one in-home sessions include an initial assessment, a personalised action plan that suits both human and dog, helpful resources, and free ongoing support throughout the teaching process. All sessions are recorded and shared for reference and use between sessions. These videos are private and confidential and will not be used for any other purpose, unless permission is expressly given. We offer ongoing support for 12 months after the initial consultation.

In-Home Learning

Our in-home learning option is an alternative to board and train programs. Dogs learn best in a familiar, low stress environment. What environment is better than the dog's own home? Besides, who wants to send their dog away for weeks on end? In-home learning negates the need to proof the skills at home that your dog learns in the contrived environment of a training facility, saving you time and money. 

How does it work?
Our trainer goes to your home and teaches your dog for you while you are at work. A minimum of 3 sessions per week is required to ensure optimal training outcomes for this service. Sessions run for 45min to 60min. The number of sessions will depend on the behaviours you wish to address, desired outcomes, and your dog.

This service includes an initial assessment, a personalised action plan that suits both human and dog, helpful resources, and free ongoing support. The food reinforcers are provided by the trainer and include the use of Prime100 SPD to ensure your dog's nutritional requirements are met. We conduct preference tests to establish the value of food, toy, play and other reinforcers for your dog to augment the learning process. 
All sessions are recorded and shared for reference and transparency, so you know exactly how, and what your dog is being taught. These videos are private and confidential and will not be used for any other purpose, unless permission is expressly given. Handover sessions are required so you can continue to work with your dog after their one-on-one learning with the trainer. We offer ongoing support for 12 months after the initial consultation.   

This service is not appropriate for all families and situations, so contact us to find out if your dog can benefit from in-home learning. Limited bookings available.

Puppy School

Praise the Dog Puppy School classes are held in Woodville South. Our Junior Pup's class is suitable for puppies aged 3-6 months, and our Senior Pup's class is suitable for puppies aged 6-12 months. Each course consists of 7 one hour classes on Sunday mornings. We carefully curate small classes of 3 to 5 puppies so that your dog is placed with the most compatible class mates. We match puppies according to breed, size, and learning needs. 

Set yourself and your puppy up for success and enrol in a professionally run puppy class that will:

• give your puppy confidence

• teach both you and your puppy valuable skills 

•  improve your relationship with your puppy

• help prevent unwanted behaviours in the future

• equip you with knowledge to help you address future concerns

It is never too late to start your pup's learning! ​

Puppies must not be older than 7 months old by Junior Pup's course end  or 13 months old by Senior Pup's course end. All pups must be fully vaccinated and be in good health.

Group Classes

Praise the Dog Group Classes are held in Woodville South. We run a Beginner Class for adult dogs with little to no prior education/training, and a Scholars Class for dogs who have already completed a course with us. Each course consists of 7 one hour classes on Monday evenings. Each class is capped at 5 dogs, 1 dog per handler.

SUP Dog!

Do you want to spend more time with your dog? Learn to stand up paddle board together! Private SUP lessons are held at West Lakes, Adelaide, and are available from October to March. Boards, paddles, and ankle straps are provided. Bookings are limited!​​​​​​​​​​​​​

1 X private SUP - 2 humans + 2 dogs: $60 per human-dog duo

1 X private SUP - 1 human + 1 dog: $90 

3 X private SUP - 2 humans + 2 dogs: $150 per human-dog duo  

3 X private SUP - 1 human + 1 dog: $240
